What are Flower Essences ?

When I first heard the term “flower essence” Vanilla Essence, popped into my mind. I came  to a quick conclusion that they were something to ingest as a flavour or a natural perfume to wear on the wrist to smell “nice”.  Memories of making victoria sponge and eating carte d’or vanilla ice cream are not to be underestimated for engendering broad smiles and good cheer. However their power, intelligence and specific healing benefits is in a different league.

Years later after I had trained as a practitioner and shared about them I noticed that I wasn’t alone with this kind of first reaction to hearing the term “flower essence”. Conveying their potency and value was quite a tricky challenge.

They are in fact liquid drops of brandy and water which contain the energetic signature of the flower and none of the physical components of the flower at all. They are sold in dark glass bottles which are generally taken from the dropper directly under the tongue. Sometimes they are put in a glass of water or applied topically on the body.

Ok so what is this “energetic signature”?

Each flower has a vibrational equivalent to its physical form, a pattern or imprint which exists and can be recorded in water just like music is recorded on a disc. The method of doing this is using the sun or moons energy along with the water and the physical flower heads. The water takes on and “remembers” the flowers energetic blueprint and stores it in its structure. Brandy or glycerin is then added to the water to preserve this pattern in the water.

They belong in the category of vibrational medicines and have a unique and powerful place in this category alongside sound healing, homeopathy and acupuncture and crystal healing.

As Dr. Richard Gerber explained, vibrational medicine is “an evolving viewpoint of health and illness that takes into account the many forms and frequencies of vibrating energy (like atoms) that contribute to the multi-dimensional human energy system,”
